Bet365 offers new customers a £30 free bet when they place a £10 qualifying bet at odds of 1.20 or greater. One of the most reliable starter offers in the UK market.
Bet365, Smarkets, and any other operator mentioned here are independent third parties. Their live prices, promotion terms, eligibility rules, payment-method restrictions, and settlement decisions always prevail over our summary, so verify them before you deposit or place a bet.
Switch Bet365 and Smarkets to decimal odds in account settings. The calculator and oddsmatcher do not match fractional odds.
Independent guide only. We are not acting for Bet365 or any exchange, and you must follow each operator's own rules when using this walkthrough.
Enough to cover your qualifying stake in your Bet365 account - typically £10–£25 depending on the offer.
Around the same amount in your Smarkets account for the lay side. The calculator will give you the exact figure.
In both your bookmaker account and exchange account, switch the odds display from fractional (e.g. 5/2) to decimal (e.g. 3.50). The calculator only accepts decimal - mixing formats is the most common beginner mistake. Look for a toggle in account settings or somewhere on the betting slip.
Open the calculator in another tab — never mentally calculate a stake. The numbers are precise.
Don't start an offer if you're interrupted, tired, or in a rush. Mistakes compound when you're distracted.
Odds shift in seconds. Before you confirm each bet, check that the odds in your bookmaker and exchange still match what the calculator was given. If they have moved more than 0.05, re-enter the new odds into the calculator first.
A mistake on a qualifying bet typically costs £2–£10. A mistake on the free-bet conversion can cost the full free-bet value. Running through these takes 30 seconds.
Read each step in full before placing the bet. The calculator gives you the exact numbers - never improvise the stake. Mistakes on a qualifying bet typically cost a few pounds; mistakes on a free bet can cost the whole conversion.
Click the "Open at Bet365" button to open the site in a new tab. Use your real name, address, and a valid email. Do NOT use a VPN - bookmakers detect VPNs and will close the account. You may be asked to verify ID (passport or driving licence) at signup or before your first withdrawal.
Go to "Deposit" in your account. Select Debit Card. Deposit £10 - no more, no less. Skip PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, and other e-wallets: these are usually excluded from welcome offers, and depositing with them will void the bonus.
If you deposit with an excluded method, you will not qualify for the free bet and there is no way to claim it later.
The Live Oddsmatcher shows back/lay matches; Smarkets is where you place the lay bet. If you don’t have a Smarkets account yet, sign up first (free, instant) using the "Open Smarkets" button on this page.
In the Live Oddsmatcher sidebar, set Bet phase = Qualifying, Bookmaker = Bet365. The board now shows only Bet365 matches with low back odds (1.5–4.0) — sized to keep your qualifying loss tiny. Sort by rating; pick the top match.
Click the top match in the Live Oddsmatcher to expand the inline calculator. The back/lay odds are pre-filled. Enter Back stake £10. The calculator shows the exact lay stake to place.
On Bet365, click the same outcome you picked in the oddsmatcher (e.g. "Liverpool to win"). Enter exactly £10. Confirm.
On Smarkets, find the same match. Click the BLUE sell button next to the same outcome. Enter the lay stake from the inline calculator. Confirm.
Make sure you click the BLUE sell button, not the GREEN back button. Selling is what cancels out your risk.
Whatever the result, your loss should be under £1. Within 24 hours of the match settling, your £30 free bet appears in your Bet365 account.
Back in the Live Oddsmatcher, change Bet phase to Free bet (keep Bookmaker = Bet365). The board now shows Bet365 matches with high back odds (4.0+) — sized for free-bet conversion. Pick a match with back odds of 5.00 or higher if available; higher odds extract more cash from the £30 free bet.
Click the match in the Live Oddsmatcher to expand the inline calculator. Switch the calculator to "Free bet (SNR)" mode. Enter Stake £30. The calculator shows the exact lay stake.
On Bet365, tick "Use Free Bet" in the bet slip BEFORE confirming. Place the full £30 free bet on your chosen outcome.
On Smarkets, click the BLUE sell button next to the same outcome. Enter the lay stake from the calculator. Confirm.
Once both bets settle, your ~£18–£25 profit will be spread between your Bet365 balance and your Smarkets balance. Withdraw to your debit card from each.
Bet365 requires the qualifying bet at odds of 1.20 or higher. A bet at 1.15 won't trigger the free bet, even if everything else is correct. Always re-check the price before confirming - bookmaker odds can shift in the seconds between selecting and placing.
Bet365 specifies a £10 qualifying bet. Depositing more is fine, but the qualifying bet itself must be exactly £10. Larger qualifying bets do not "scale up" the £30 free bet - you just lose more on the qualifying-loss step.
These payment methods are excluded from the welcome offer. Bet365 won't flag it at deposit time - they'll just silently not credit the £30 free bet. UK debit card is the only safe option.
Bet365 free bets are "stake not returned" - meaning if you win, you get the winnings but not the stake back. Always switch the calculator to "Free bet (SNR)" mode before laying the second bet. Using qualifying-bet mode here gives you a wrong (too high) lay stake and burns your profit.
Once the qualifying bet settles and the £30 free bet is credited, you have 7 days to use it. Set a phone reminder for day 5 - if you leave it to day 7 and a good match isn't available, you're forced into bad odds or losing the free bet entirely.
Most UK bookmakers allow withdrawal back to the original debit card. Withdrawals typically clear in 1–3 business days.
